Kasey was born in Dothan, Alabama but now resides in Reno, Nevada where she has lived for the past 22 years. She is an entrepreneur and mother, balancing owning the restaurant Süp for 18 years, being a UX/UI Designer, and being a mom to her 12-year-old son Soren. Community, family, entrepreneurship, and the arts are at the core of who she is and what inspires her.
Music has been a part of her life since an early age, singing with her mom around the house and in car rides to school. But Kasey always wanted to play an instrument to accompany her voice and began learning the ukulele in 2019. Her trajectory soon changed a year later with the passing of her father, a deeply sad event that served as catalyst to finding her true passion for music when she was given her father’s Martin guitar. She started teaching herself to play guitar in March 2021 before taking lessons from local guitar teacher Eric Stangeland in October of the same year.
Kasey dove headfirst into music and began attending open mics regularly, connecting with the Reno music community and honing her skills. She played her very first two hour showcase only a year after picking up the guitar. Around the same time, she met her boyfriend and fellow Reno musician Liam Kyle Cahill, a seasoned singer-songwriter with whom she writes, sings, and plays with regularly. Together they have played at Fforest Fest in Morris, IL., Kauai, Hi. and all over Nevada including special events in South Lake Tahoe (Harrah’s Casino), Elko (Art in the Park), Winnemucca (Sagebrush Sounds Music Festival), and Reno (Reno-Tahoe International Art Show) as well as numerous bars, restaurants, and music venues in Northern Nevada. For more than three years now she has hosted her own monthly open mic in Reno. She released her first studio single in Dec 2023, followed by a 3 song Live EP in Dec 2024, and a live cover of Cleopatra in 2025. She will be releasing her first full album in 2026.
